Welcome to City Equals!

Hello and welcome to our funky website: City Equals.

To begin with we would like to give you a bit of background on our group. We first met in April 2002 with one of our first decisions being the Logo. It took some time as we all had a lot to say but eventually Penshaw Monument was top of the list due to its high position within the City. Once that decided, we began to meet regularly with the aim to discuss issues relevant to young people with 'special needs' (learning difficulties/disabilities LDD), becoming an advocating forum speaking up for other young people who access youth provision in the City. We are supported by workers from the Sunderland City Council Youth Development Group; our aim is to promote participation, equal rights and tackle issues such as transport, accessibility and the pressures young people face today.
